He stays out later and later. He may be staying out to avoid coming home. This is a sign that something isn’t right in your relationship. He doesn’t want to tell you that he’s not happy to your face, probably because he doesn’t want to hurt your feelings, so instead he sends a subtle signal by staying away from you more and more frequently. The best way to approach this is to talk to him about it, but remember, as I always say, not in a confrontational, judgmental or accusatory way.

He doesn’t call as much. Usually when a guy stops calling or texting you as much as he once did, it’s because he’s either bored at this point in the relationship and has lost the spark that once attracted him to you or he’s spending his time elsewhere, be it with another woman or with his guy friends. In this case, as well, sitting down and airing out the problem with your mate is the best approach. When the contact dries up, the connection usually does too.

He forgets your birthday. It can be hurtful when your boyfriend forgets your birthday. No woman wants her big day to come around only to be crushed when her man fails to remember it. Now there are some guys who don’t remember their own birthday or their mom’s birthday, much less yours. But you can gauge the reaction your guy has when you remind him about it. If he’s really sorry and proceeds to make it up to you, then I’d let it slide

When a man forgets important dates, stays away more often, and stops making the effort to call, it usually means the relationship is slipping out of his hands or out of his heart. The important thing is to notice the pattern, not just one bad day. A man who wants to keep you in his life will show it with time, attention, and care.
